Cloud 9 Tatu
Cloud 9 Tatu has been running since 2017. We are Queer and Trans run private studio located near the centre of Bristol.
The Artists
The studio has several resident artists as well as regularly hosting visiting guest artists who are advertised on the studios social media.
The Space
We work to maintain a calm and welcoming atmosphere, visually and audibly. If any adjustments to lighting or music is required, please don’t hesitate to ask!
The tattoo beds we use are wider than standard and we have a number of pillows including a wedge for extra support and comfort.
The studio is wheelchair accessible- it is on street level and does not have any steps inside or outside, we are working on our bathrooms accessibility as we do not currently have rails.
Our Studio Ethos
As a group we are actively engaged in conversations surrounding Intersectional Feminism, Body Politics, Ableism, Gender Politics, Racism, Mental Health and Class both individually and within the tattoo industry.
This informs the ethics and goals of how our studio is run and together we aim to hold an inclusive and safer space in the hopes that those who visit will have a comfortable experience and have their individual needs heard, respected and met to the best of our abilities.

Hand-poke Tattoos
This method of tattooing is like the analogue version of machine tattoos- it has a slower pace, lack of noise or vibrations from the machine and some people find this method of tattooing more manageable to recieve.
Machine Tattoos
The machines that the residents use are a lot quieter than traditional coil tattoo machines leading the environment to feel a lot calmer. One of the pros to machine tattooing is that can result in larger work being done in less time than with hand poke.
Paramedical Tattoos
Restorative and corrective tattoos that can help people reclaim and feel more comfortable with parts of their body that have been changed by surgery, stretch marks or other scars.
